My wife wanted a little elevation on the monitor, so we tested with books to see how much room we needed. It seemed like a good idea to add a drawer since there was plenty of room to do so. I'd been wanting to experiment with french cleat style wooden runners, and any excuse to legitimately dovetail something is welcome. :-)
